Each practitioner may have his/her approach to performing a treatment based on each patient’s treatment plan to address their need. However, the general steps are as follow:

1. Cleansing the treatment areas with an antibacterial solution
2. May use a topical or injectable anesthetic in sensitive areas to prevent pain. (some dermal filler contains lidocaine for the same purpose)
3. Inject Hyaluronic Acid into the skin with a fine needle by a series of small injections.
4. Messages the area to distribute the injected Hyaluronic Acid in the treated areas.

The treatment may take 20-60 minutes depends on your treatment plan.

Each treatment long-lasting depends on various factors like the treated area, lifestyle, and dermal filler type. However, it is not permanent, and your body will absorb Hyaluronic Acid. It is recommended to consult with your skincare professional to have an optimal plan to maintain the result.
Generally, you are advised to repeat treatment every 6-18 months.

Hyaluronic Acid has minimal downtime. In most cases, patients can continue their daily routine immediately after treatment. The common side effect may be redness, swelling, and bruise, which will resolve within a few days.

You can see the results immediately after your treatment. The optimal result happens after a month as it will improve in the next 2-4 weeks after your treatment.

Each jurisdiction has its laws, and it is recommended to check it with your health authorities. In general, only registered skincare professionals are allowed to perform an injection. In some countries, a Register Nurse is permitted to perform the injection. In many regions, only trained physicians, dermatologists, or plastic surgeons are permitted to perform.

Both botulinum toxin and Hyaluronic Acid are injectable solutions to prevent and treat wrinkles.
The difference is in the way they work on our bodies. Hyaluronic Acid restores the lost volume of the skin due to the aging process. However, botulinum toxin prevents wrinkles by reducing muscle activity in the treated area.

Hyaluronic acid dermal filler is contraindicated and should not be used in the following situations (for a complete list and more information, refer to the leaflet of each product)

• Patients suffering from untreated epilepsy
• Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers
• Patients under the age of 18
• Injection into inflamed and/or infected areas such as acne, herpes.
• In combination with laser treatment, intense pulsed light, chemical peeling or dermabrasion
• Presence of considerable inflammatory response to the surface peel

There are potential immediate or delayed side effects associated with the implantation of Hyaluronic Acid injection. Your skincare professional is required to inform the clients of these side effects, which include but are not limited to:

• Inflammatory reactions (redness, swelling, erythema) are accompanied by itching, pain, pressure, discoloration, or tenderness at the injection area.
• Induration (hardening of the skin) or formation of nodules at the site of injection
• Poor filling results due to improper injection technique.
• Delayed or immediate hypersensitivity, abscess formation, and glabellar necrosis have been reported with injections of cross-linked hyaluronic acid products.
• Hematomas

It is highly recommended to receive immediate medical attention if the inflammatory reactions or any other side effects experienced by patients for more than a week.

These reactions usually happen immediately or 1-2 weeks after injection and are usually mild and moderate, with an average duration of 2 weeks. Usually, this reaction is self-limiting and disappears with time. It’s strongly suggested that patients with such reactions contact their physicians immediately. Treatment should be avoided for patients with multiple allergic reactions.

Although Hyaluronic Acid injection has minimal risk, certain medications can compromise the result or your safety. For example, it is highly recommended to avoid taking a high dose of anti-coagulants or anti-inflammatory drugs, Aspirin, Vitamin E a week before your treatment to minimize the chance of bruising.
You are required to discuss your medication with your doctors before receiving the treatment.

Although all HA brands’ main ingredient is the same, it is highly advisable not to use different brands together. For more information, please refer to the technical data of each brand.

Yes, there is an age restriction of 18 years for legal and safety reasons.
